We graduate from our hand-rolled registry to the real FastMCP framework and create a server with six tools spanning both of colab-mcp’s operational modes: proxy tools like open_colab_browser_connection, proxy_add_code_cell, and proxy_execute_cell, plus runtime_execute_code for direct kernel access. We then build a SimulatedColabWebSocketServer that replicates the Session Proxy architecture — it listens for connections, validates a security token on the first message, and forwards JSON-RPC tool calls between the browser frontend and the MCP client.
